What Happened in Singapore?
On September 19, 2025, Zubeen Garg was once in Singapore to perform at the renowned North East India Festival.
After getting ready for the event, Zubeen Garg allegedly went out on a boat with some members of the local Assamese community. During scuba diving / swimming activities, he experienced breathing difficulties under the water.
According to reports –
- He was rescued from the water and given CPR.
- He was immediately transported to Singapore General Hospital and admitted to the ICU.
- Around 2:30 PM IST, he was declared dead by the doctors.
The organizers of the festival later indicated that the diving trip was not an official part of their itinerary.

Although he left too soon at the age of 52, his music assures that Zubeen Garg will never die.
