Ather Energy unveils its all-new EL platform and EL01 concept at Community Day 2025. Scalable design, AI-powered features, and new scooters coming next year. At the Ather Community Day 2025, Ather Energy officially announced its next-generation EL platform. The platform will have all new dimensions for electric vehicles, efficiency, cost and future-ready technologies. The new EL platform will be used for all three new body types being developed a family scooter, a maxi-scooter and a sporty performance EV. At the forefront of these models is the Ather EL01 Concept, which is a futuristic view of family bucket-style electric scooters developed with a clean-sheet of paper approach.
What’s New in the Ather EL Platform
The platform introduces –
- Scalable chassis & enhanced powertrain
- Re-built software stack
- Extended service intervals & faster turnaround service
- Faster assembly for large orders
A main feature is the Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS) and new Charge Drive Controller that combines the on-board charger with the motor controller, eliminating the need for a portable charger.
AtherStack 7.0: Smarter Than Ever
Ather also revealed its most ambitious software upgrade yet—AtherStack 7.0.
- Voice commands with AI tuned for Indian dialects
- Crash Alerts & Pothole Alerts
- ParkSafe & LockSafe theft protection
- Reverse compatibility with existing Ather scooters (via OTA update)
Infinite Cruise & Ultra-Fast Charging
The new platform debuts Infinite Cruise, a smart cruise control designed for Indian roads. Riders will get three unique modes –
- CityCruise
- Hill Control
- Crawl Control
Charging speeds have also doubled. The next-gen fast charger can deliver 30 km of range in just 10 minutes.
Ather EL01 Launch Timeline
The Ather EL platform scooters will be produced in Ather’s Sambhaji Nagar facility, located in Maharashtra. The first production model is planned to be ready for the Indian market around the 2025 festive period.
